Mine weren't HD, I will say the relocators (spacers) along with my extended floorboards allow me options that keeps me comfortable. Downside of extended board is riding 2-up and getting your leg caught between boards when pushing or backing, if you have shorter legs.

Don't take this as sarcastic, but if you have short legs, why would you relocate the floor boards?

Gets your legs farther away from the engine and heat.

Several years ago I bought a set of the extended reach footboard pans from H-D. Mine are the Swept Wing style and I topped them with Slipstream inserts or pads. I liked them so well I used them on our new custom build in '20. I combined them with Softbrake outboard extensions to move them laterally 3/4". I'm so comfortable with them I can't imagine going back to the stock position.

The extended reach boards will NOT affect guys with shorter legs. It's not like your knees and legs are suddenly straight by using them. the benefit is in improved knee / ankle angles, and to a lesser extent hip angles possibly. That was my rationale for using them. My knees were uncomfortably bent and I wanted to give them a bit more extension.

I equipped the passenger with chrome mounts, chrome swept-wing pans and Slipstream tops to match mine overall.

I like the idea of moving the footboards out a smidge, but I've also been thinking about getting banana boards. When I go on long trips, I like the convenience of moving to different leg positions both forward and back for comfort. Anybody have this setup?

On my Ultra I have 3/4" or 1" spacers (don't remember), Kuryakyn extended boards, and the positional highway pegs I put just beyond the boards and can rest my toes on while heels are on the boards. My wife seldom ride with me anymore so I removed the rear passenger boards. Plenty of movement and comfort for longer trips.

@StoneTrekker How do you like your extended heal shifter? I hate the stock heal shifter because it’s too short and takes up too much of the floorboard. I installed an extended one like yours. Soooo much better. I can actually use the whole floorboard now. Along with the floorboard spacers, it makes for a much better ride.

I like the extended heel shifter. I've got it set so all I have to do is elevate my boot heel slightly and drift it back over the heel peg...rock my boot and that's it. No more being on the ball of my foot and having my heel up in the air to get on the heel shifter. Plus I have 100% of the board available for my boot. Win-Win for me.
