Yup , have a stock pile of steel etc , just the time to make is all I got into it , more fun than work , I like being in the shop .

As a follow-up to my post #15...

FWIW.... for comparison...

I checked both my 2001 and 2003 HD Softail Factory Service Manuals... They both said the same thing about checking drive belt tension..

Section 1.14 Rear Belt Deflection- Measure belt deflection with the approximate weight of the owner on the motorcycle.

I checked my 2016 HD Dyna Factory Service Manual....

Section 1.11 rear Belt Deflection- measure with the motorcycle upright or on jiffy stand with the rear wheel on the ground. Also, with vehicle unladen: no rider, no luggage, and empty saddle bags.
