If you give your Vin # to any HD dealer they can tell you if you have security. Your neutral safety switch may need cleaning or replacing. You might have a bad ground. Dont rely on the indicator to tell if youre in neutral. Roll the bike with the clutch out.
Could be:
- it’s really not in neutral
- bad neutral switch
- weak battery…even if new
- blown fuse
- bad ground between battery and transmission connection
- bad connection between battery + and starter
- bad starter solenoid
- security is engaged without FOB
There isn’t a magic bullet. You need to diagnose the issue. If you can’t, find someone who can.
Who has actually seen a green N light burn out? You are more likely to walk into clean house, steak, and 3 women waiting for you.
It went out on my 08 RKC. My Indy was surprised too.
I've also had problems as mentioned earlier with main switch on the tank. Same as OP. Fuel pump would come on and the dash lights but no start. Luckily for me it was usually in the morning when it happened and could tell because the head light wouldn't come on when the switch was acting up. Wiggle the switch until the headlights came on and it would start right up. I eventually replaced the switch.

On my 03 the green Neutral light would be intermittently off. Eventually the bike wouldnt start, I bought a new battery, it still wouldnt start. I had to have it towed. It was a bad ground to the starter. The Neutral light was fixed too.
