I got this text a couple hours ago.
I ordered the 1.5 forward and out kit.
Ill let you know what I think after I install them.
I do not however have lowers.
I am 5'8" and have them on my 2006 'Lectra Glide Classic and luv them. I wear Chippewa logger boots that have a thick sole and sit on an HD Sundowner seat. I have no issues with my foot placement either on the footboard or on the ground. Up thru 2008 the footboards on baggers had 3 vertical position adjustments. In 2009 the MoCo in its infinite wisdom made the footboard position fixed.
I am looking into floorboard extensions and was wondering what everyone would suggest based from their experiences with them. I have lowers installed and I am 5'8" on a good day. Would you guys recommend the 1" or 1.5"? Is the 1.5" too much for the lowers? Thanks, for any input.
1" is preferable for many reasons. (lean angle being one, catching the pant leg or boot another).
You may find the following video to be useful in your decision making process on Floorboard Extensions.
Even though this video is showing a Softail, the principles are exactly the same for the Touring Models.

Yeah it's a great feature. I raised my footboards with 1" extensions on them up to the highest setting when I did the Tail Of The Dragon and also when I head on down to W Virginia to ride the twisties down there. That extra clearance is great in the tight curves.
