I am looking into floorboard extensions and was wondering what everyone would suggest based from their experiences with them. I have lowers installed and I am 5'8" on a good day. Would you guys recommend the 1" or 1.5"? Is the 1.5" too much for the lowers? Thanks, for any input.
Not trying to be sarcastic, but at 5'-8", why would you want them? Aren't you basically straight legged now? I'm 6'-2" and have been considering them, but I can ride at the stock location pretty well. I'm going to add highway pegs first and see how that works for me before I move the floor boards.

There are a couple of reasons and neither has to do with my height. Only added that in case it will actually make a difference on the choice. But to answer your question, I would like my leg to be off the air cleaner just a little more and a little further from the exhaust. I have highway pegs, but they don't really help much around town and stop and go traffic. I ride everyday, so any added comfort is a bonus.
Fair enough. In that case I would look to go out more than forward. Also, from what I hear, 1" is about the limit forward with lowers. HD also has a heel shield for the right side that might help with the exhaust.

Yea, no need to go forward for me. Just wasn't sure how they lined up going out with the lowers.
I had 1" FB extensions on my touring bikes. Never had a problem but I do remove the heel shifter and use a piece of heater hose as a spacer then move the shifter out to the end of the shaft.
I went with 1.25, like having my feet out wider..My only problem was getting use to the width after stopping and lifting my feet off the ground I would always catch the floorboard and pull it up slightly.
I installed the 1” spacer kit from @DK Custom on my 2018 Tri Glide. They also make them for touring bikes. I find that the gas tank Is too wide for me to get my whole foot on the floorboard. The 1” spacing is perfect for me. Now my feet don’t hang off the side of the floorboard.
I like a heel shifter but the stock Harley one is too short and takes up too much room on the left floorboard. I bought an extended one that moves it back off the floorboard out of the way, so now I’ve got plenty of room on the left side.
