I have 2013 street glide and I am putting a set of 2014 and up one latch bags. I have done this swap before, and it works fine and the only modification that had to be done was elongating the front mounting bracket so the bracket could slide into a new position allowing the bag hold to line up with the bracket threaded hole. My existing fender support brackets are chrome and pitted pretty good so I was going to replace them. Then I started thinking if I could replace the existing fender support brackets with gloss black ones that are designed for a 2014 and later bike. If this would bolt onto the bike than I would not have to elongate the existing bracket because the hold on the bracket would be in the correct spot. My guy is telling me that the 2014 fender support brackets will bolt on and that the only difference is the location of the bag mounting hole. Are there any service mechanics or guys who could chime in on this issue.
