Default Fairing Vent Noise
Any solution to the vent making noise while running down the road ? Mine makes a lot of noise and sounds almost like a bearing noise , but it's the wind coming though the vent.

Close the vent and noise is gone. Problem is then you get wind buffeting, Any solution short of getting better speakers and an amp ? Oh , 15 Tri- Glide

Can't say I've had the noise occur for me. Maybe the little door that closes the vent is loose and vibrating when open?

Nothing loose and it's a steady wind noise. The radio sounds like crap when it's open. Kinda like sticking your head out a car window at speed. Much quieter behind the windshield with it closed.
I guess that's the way i will run it.

any loose or excess plastic flashing on the vent louver? I could imagine that causing a whine or whistle.

Interesting, I wear a half helmet and have never noticed a wind noise that changes when my vent is opened or closed....

I'll have to play with it next ride...

I’ve never heard any noise coming through the vent.

Has it always made noise?

Yes ! It just interferes with hearing the radio. I will take a look for any plastic flashing left on the vent. The vent works good.

Not sure if it would fit with the vent open/closed option but have you thought about a Klock Werks Fairing Vent ? Fairing Vent Screens for Harley-DavidsonŽ 2014-2023 FLH (getklocked.com) I added one on my 2020 just to stop a bit of the rain and bugs which occasionally come flying out of the vent.

Interesting. I have never heard anything, open or closed. Do you have any mods like a screen, chrome trim, etc. around the vent?
