Wow. Sorry you are going through this, but so glad you're here with us still.
Moments like this have a way of honing us in on what is really important. Take the time to heal, spend time with your wife, friends, and family, and be a good patient. Don't worry right now about any riding you're missing, be grateful you're still here to ride!
Keep us updated on how you're progressing. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
I lost pressure in my front tire of my 03 FLHTCUI100. I had put pressure indicator valve caps on, and the valve cap sheared off, and the valve came out. It became very difficult to steer. I was near home and managed to turn three times, going about a half mile, then I stopped. The tire looked inflated, but actually had 5 psi.
I hope you recover fully. Take care of your back. Back pain can be excruciating.
Wow. I'm glad you'll recover, that was bad. Interested to hear what caused the wobble for sure. These stories make me wish I could wear a helmet. Medical issues prevent it but I don't want to give up riding.
Hope you heal fast my friend. I'm glad you have a solid group of people behind you.
Damn, sounds like a freak accident. When I saw the thread title, the first thought I had was that some jackwad cut you off or ran into you. I'm glad you are here to tell us about it. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Hopefully the insurance treats you right, so you can actually enjoy shopping for a new (or new to you) bike, but it still sucks that the bike you worked to make your own is totaled.
Crashing on my bike is the second thing that scares me the most, crashing on my bike with my wife on the back is the thing I fear the most. Thankfully your wife was on her own bike and not riding with you.
Best of luck to you, keep us updated on your recovery.
Good to hear you are on your way to recovery. If you ride long enough, you will get into this sort of situation unless you have a horseshoe up your butt. Also, you were lucky to have avoided the guard rail. Motorcycles and guard rails DO NOT get along, ask me how I know.
I had the same attitude, on the way to the hospital, I was thinking about how soon I can get back on the bike...
