Display stand on my 03 FLHTPI... it doesn't lift the rear wheel, but it takes up less room in the garage, makes it easy to clean the bike, work on it, and a few other things.
Very good bang for the buck as far as functionality.
I put one on my 02 road glide, having problems with it being located under the board, almost fell over putting it on the stand. Still like it on the stand though, any advice getting it on the stand would be useful. Thanks.
You need to adjust the bolts at the bottom that contact the ground so there is enough weight on them to hold the bike from moving forward and falling over. You will find if you have saddlebag guards like I have or the stock Ultra set, the best way to put the bike on the center stand is to push down with your left foot and stand up while you lift with your right hand on the bag guard. It helps to have a backrest and just push back a little as you raise your weight of the seat while lifting the saddlebag guard and holding the stand down with your foot.
If there is a dip in the cement or pavement, and it is too easy to the bike on the stand, don't park there as it will move forward and fall over.
Also, you can sit on the bike with your feet up. Hit the starter, and drive off.
i have the center stand i my roadking police and your right it is very hard to get up .i adjusted the legs where they just hit the ground i use it mainly for storage or when i doing a service.i can tell you its very secure.if you push the bike foward alittle then roll it back buy grabbing the hadle bar and the crash bar and lift the motion going back helps alot.as for the display stand its not very secure my friend has one his bike does not have an oil cooler so he had room but he never uses it it makes him nervous...
Steve, as far as you know, can the adjustable stand be used on a standard height HD if the legs are adjusted all the way 'in' ? It seems like that would leave the rear wheel touching the ground when the stand is put down, and that's exactly what I am looking for. At the same time, if I wanted to raise the rear wheels, I could just adjust the feet down on the center stand.
Am I crazy, or based on your knowledge of the adjustable stand, would this work ?
