My 05 RKC has Metzlers on her. But not enough mileage yet to give you a good review. Handle well enough and cost a little more, and I'm told I won't be replacing the rear every 13k like the dunlops. I also went with the slightly wider rear vs. stock width. And they are WIDE WHITE WALLS a requirement for my image.
On my 07 FLHP I got 9500 miles out of he cop Dunlop. So far I have 7700 miles on the 150 Metzler and I will have to replace it soon. The front is original and it is ready for a new tire. I bet I'll need a new set of 18" wheels too!!

Your right there, it won't be 13,000 miles more like 7000 to 8000 miles you will replace, I went through 2 sets of Metz's on the rear so I know about the mileage, trust me on the E3's.
i have about 21000 miles on my 07 and on 2nd set of metzlers after initially having the stock dunlops which i did not like at all, and retired early.
the metzlers perform way better and for whatever reason, handle the highway and all its motorcycle unfriendly focked up pavement much better. im curious about the e3's but my curiosity will have to wait as i have front and back metzys and have all of about 300 miles on em at this point.
What are u going to do when you're traveling and need one of these "special order tires" metzler, e-3, michelins? Exactly just stick to what works. Dunlops! Every hd dealer in the country has them! Try looking for those "other tire" at your local motorcycle shops! It's an eye opener! Would love to get some e-3's but not worth the headache to me in always trying to find someone that stocks them. 130/70 18" front 150 16" rear dunlops. Mighty happy usually last 8 to 10 k in the rear if i dont do burnouts. With burnouts 6 k. Go thru two rears vs one front hope this helps a little. Knees to the wind !!! No glory bar hoppers!!!
My stock Dunlop rear will go past 20,000 mi before the wear bars say it's time. The front will go well beyond 30,000 mi. I don't do burnouts. Half my miles are touring and the other half local. Correct tire and shock pressure seem to make a difference. As stated above if you travel the standard 402s are easily found.
Getting about 7,000 mi. on my 07 RKC rear tires. I've been told metzlers are softer and ware quicker then dunlop. I like the look of white walls and talked to dunlop when front and rear changed about the E3. The E-3 has good reviews, but dunlop has no plans of making them in white wall.
