Default Hammock Seat Value

I'll apologize if this is posted in the wrong place.

I'm thinking about selling the Hammock seat I bought used. The cover is in perfect condition and I've repaired the sling with a couple of bolts. The seat is the 09-13 Hammock seat that everybody raves about, the seating position just doesn't work as well for me as the newer Hammock or even the stock 2017 seat.

I'm curious what these are selling for. If I wasn't in Canada I'd probably just post it here.

The dream seat is a CVO Hammock but good luck getting one up here

Typically used stuff sells for approximately half of the retail price...a little more if its in near new condition or a little less if it has some flaws. If it's new but you can't use it for some reason then you should get 80 percent of retail. These are guidelines if you actually want to sell the item or you can ask full price or close to it but you'll drift into classified section purgatory in a week or two. Just an FYI it will fit the 08 touring year too...everyone leaves us bastard years out lol. If I didn't already have 4 seats for my bike I'd make you an offer because I've always wanted a hammock seat lol. This is just what I've seen here and what I've experienced buying and selling many times.

Too bad it didn't work for you. I'd think $350'ish (CDN) would be a fair price. Throw it on Kijiji and see what happens. I've had good luck selling there...never not sold something I listed there. FB Marketplace works pretty good as well. Good Luck!

It was actually a good experiment. I got to see first-hand how the hammock slings come loose and how to fix them and I learned that extended reach seats aren't for me. I've always looked at the Mustang Super Touring and Deluxe touring seats and wondered if the position would be better than the Wide touring on my 03 or the equivalent for this bike. I have also looked at Ultimate and Saddlemen seats and wondered about stock vs extended reach. You see so many more reviews of extended reach seats that you start to think that they must be for you. lol

Yah...seats (like bars, windshields, shocks, etc) are subjective and not "one size fits all". It's trial & error in many cases. For me, first was a mod by MCC. Had it shipped to my buddy's place in Florida and rode the bike home with it...nope. Man was I glad to get home and get that seat off the bike. Then I thought I wanted a Harley Tallboy seat. Fortunately my dealer had a demo that I tried...nope. Next I thought the Mustang Super Touring would work so I ordered a solo with backseat & matching rear. We rode it for a while and...nope. Put it up for sale and as luck would have it, I had a guy offer to trade me for his virtually brand new Hammock (I had previously demo'd one of these at the dealer as well). Finally, a seat that works for us. Had it for probably at least 6 years now...moved it from the 2012 UC to the current. It's not perfect or "seat nirvana" but it works well for us.
