Default Stationary running.

My bike does not have plates on it and has been sitting for months. I want to start it up and let it run for maybe 20 minutes. I have a large barn fan and can move a lot of air over the engine. I am thinking that this should be fine but thought I would see what others think first.

I've run mine like that during testing. Dynos run fans while they run the engine at high RPMs under load. Should be OK.

I'd say.... why start it at all? Let her sleep. Not gaining anything by just letting it idle.

It has been sitting for 6 months, thinking of getting fresh gas in the injectors, small passageways, oil on the cylinders etc.

You'd do well going for a short ride if you're able. Much better for the bike.

Agree with a short ride. You need to get the bike up to operating temperature to burn the condensation out of the oil and circulate the gas as well as primary and trans oil. 30 minutes even if you go around the block multiple times should do it.
