Default Fuel Moto head pipe cracked

Has anyone had this happen to their Fuel Moto 2 into 2 head pipe? It’s not just the weld that cracked, the stainless steel broke.

I looked on their site and these are out of stock so I can’t replace it. I’ll have to go with a whole new system. This sucks.

I wish I would have noticed the cracked head pipe when I took it off a couple months ago. It's amazing I didn't, considering it's almost cracked in half. Man, this bike has been a pain. I named it Christine. My wife says "ya, just like the car in the movie". I think she's right. I'll probably end up with an extra head pipe in the end. It sucks but its peanuts compared to how much I've spent on this bike, it was built on a Friday. Also, I'll probably be screwed anyway as I don't have the receipt anymore.
We received your email just now as requested and Justin is responding to your request, your head pipe is 9 years old however it is indeed covered by our lifetime warranty. We have a head pipe allocated and can ship today.
For those following along we ask respectfully if anyone has an issue with any of our products please make us the first point of contact; give us the opportunity to help first. We can only help if we're aware of the issue and fortunately I came across this post this morning. We also thank everyone for the many years of support on HDF

Looks like a stress crack, why do you think it can't be welded?

Definitely worth getting it welded...waaaaay cheaper than a new system that's for sure.
There was another thread with guy showing the terrible weld job someone did on his footpeg...dont use his guy. Lol

Did you call? Just because it's not on their site doesn't always mean they can't help.

Stress fractures like that are generally caused by improper installation. If the part is under tension then bolted up tight, it will break sooner or later.

Improper installation? It only goes together one way. I don’t really know what I could have done wrong. I’ve had this exhaust off and on a couple times and never had to force anything together. I’m doubting the improper install but I could be wrong.
