Has anyone had this happen to their Fuel Moto 2 into 2 head pipe? It’s not just the weld that cracked, the stainless steel broke.
I looked on their site and these are out of stock so I can’t replace it. I’ll have to go with a whole new system. This sucks.
We apologize you are having an issue. Please send an email to justin@fuelmotousa.com, we will replace the head pipe under warranty. A couple things to note:
We offer a lifetime warranty if you are the original purchaser
Our stainless head pipes are built with ASTM A269 T304 tubing

I try to buy good stuff from good companies pretty much regardless of cost. I expect that if something goes sideways I can call the company FIRST (before going full interweb) get a person who speaks English coherently, listen to my problem and either make good or patiently and convincingly explain what I did wrong, and suggest a mutually agreeable, viable way forward. There are a couple of companies consistently recommended here for customer service AND product. Funny but they all seem to be USA based..,Fuel moto is one...Buy once cry once. I can't afford cheap ****.
That's 400 series stainless. Has carbon in it. What most cheap grade SS fasteners are made from. Makes the SS stronger.
Gets that surface rust stain but stops there. Needs stress relieved when welded. Or it's so hard and brittle, rather then flex, it cracks.
It may in the exhaust system get so hot that a cold splash of water hardens it. So is it from their fabrication method or riding conditions?
Probably the latter but one can't stop that from happening. They need to make it from 300 series but that would send material cost to Nuclear pipe cost status.

Too cool. Giving a life time warranty on exhaust is standing behind what they sell.

I've sent an email to Fuel Moto. Even if they replace it, I wonder how long it will take as they are not in stock. I want this bike on the road so I've ordered a KremeWorks head pipe so I can get this thing started and heat cycle it next weekend like I wanted too this weekend. I wish I would have noticed the cracked head pipe when I took it off a couple months ago. It's amazing I didn't, considering it's almost cracked in half. Man, this bike has been a pain. I named it Christine. My wife says "ya, just like the car in the movie". I think she's right. I'll probably end up with an extra head pipe in the end. It sucks but its peanuts compared to how much I've spent on this bike, it was built on a Friday. Also, I'll probably be screwed anyway as I don't have the receipt anymore.

Here's another example of the quality of service that Fuel Moto provides. I had no idea it was a lifetime warranty. Just for the record, this thread was never intended to bad mouth Fuel Moto. I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar problem and maybe a couple replacement suggestions since none were in stock on the web site. After all, the darn thing is 9 years old. Instead, it turned into a thread about quality service from a small American business, something that's not all that easy to find anymore. I just received the Pay Pal notification for shipping cost and paid it. Thank you, Jamie, that's some fine customer service!

That is what excellent customer service is all about.
