My 04 had those chrome guards on the lids but mama always seemed to mark 'em up somehow anyway. The new scoot doesn't have the chrome lid guards. What are folks thoughts on the lid bras?

I have the HD set that came with my bike when I bought it. I'll probably keep them around for the occasional passsenger that rides with me but 99% of the time they'll sit in my garage.
