Default Dresser Duals

I just picked up a set of V&H Dresser Duals for my 97 Road King. These pipes are listed for 95-08. The pipes are in great shape, but they came with the 07-08 rear mounting bracket. Of course, I didn't realize this until the pipes were mounted. Am I going to hurt anything by riding without the bracket? This will only be a short term situation until I track down the correct bracket.

You referring to the bracket at the starter. Could crack the head pipe without the support.

You're definitely gonna want them to be mounted correctly

I assume by rear you mean the bracket attaching the crossover to the back of the tranny? If so I’d say you’d be fine for the short term. I had an S&s break and never knew until I noticed it while checking my belt. If you’re talking about the side bracket at the tranny cover, I wouldn’t risk.

This is definitely a short term situation. It is the bracket that goes from the starter to the rear pipe. My only real concern is immediate...I want to ride today and nothing is open until tomorrow due to the holiday.

Well, after a bunch of grinding on the 07-08 mount, the pipe is supported. It ain't pretty, but it will work until I get the correct mount.
