I heard here Harley won’t warranty them if they’ve gotten wet. Crazy right? So I rubber band plastic bags over them when washing the bike, although I did ride three hours in the rain last week. They still work.
I havent read much about the stock heated grips having issues. My original heated grips are working fine on my 14 Limited. What kinds of issues have you had?
My grips started uneven heat. Right grips when working throttle would get hot enough for me to have to remove hand to cool off on 3 setting. 3rd and 4th time replacing just stops working altogether. Been an on going issue for 3 years now.

The right hand grip will nearly always be hotter than the left because every time you use the clutch the left glove loses heat. For that reason I use heated gloves most of the time when it is colder. I only use the heated grips when it is cool and what a bit of extra warms without the hassle of the heated glove wiring. Generally find my right hand is significantly warmer than the left when using the grips. Also only tend to us them on setting 1 or 2 as too hot on anything higher.
I think your bike is doing something to the grips. Four pairs failing on their own seems statistically improbable. I’ve had factory heated grips for years in all sorts of conditions and they have always worked great.
I had the HD upgraded heated grips dealer installed on my '21 Road King and it's the same as yours. I only use setting 1 and 2 and after 15-20 minutes the right hand gets hotter but I noticed it's always to the outside of my right palm and then crank it down to 1 for 20 minutes and repeat the process when it cools down. The 1st day they installed them, I had to crank it up to 6 to get warm but now, 2 is the highest without burning off my hand. My '20 Ultra Limited with stock heated grips would do the same on setting 3 and would have to crank it down to 2 to cool down.
