The rider's weight has nothing to do with it; if he rides the LRST and thinks it's faster than his RGST, his weight is the same, so it's not a factor.
The bike's weight is a factor though.
Low Rider ST weighs 721 pounds wet.
Road Glide ST weighs 842 pounds.
So, OP, try out the LRST with a 120-pound passenger on the back and see how it compares to your RGST with you on it solo. If it's about the same, then you have your answer.
The engine may have a different cam or state of tune too; there's a minor difference listed
RGST lists 127 ft/lbs at 3750 rpm.
LRST lists 125 ft/lbs at 3500 rpm.
To the OP: if you want to get the same blast from your RGST as the LRST delivers, that's pretty much what the 131 ci Stage IV kit will do for you.

Since Zepkas closed, been going there. They did some ECM flashing on my previous bike for things I added, and got me in with no appointment and didn’t charge me anything. From that point on, they became my new dealership of choice.
I’m going to make a guess here. I think HD messed with the throttle progressiveness on the low rider - like when you twist the throttle 30%, the butterfly opens 50%. Kind of like its always in super Sport Mode. It certainly would be an easy way to give the impression that the bike rips.
I ride an 18 SG with the 107 and a CR480 cam and my wife rides a 22 ST with the 117. When I jump on her bike, from time to time...that thing rips compared to mine! If I replaced my SG tomorrow...It would be hard for me to not get the ST.

Z&M.... Ive been wanting to visit that dealership, I like the fact they post the prices - every other dealer just has "call for pricing" from what I hear they may be a little higher on their posted price but thats a negotiable starting point. anyway good for you steelerdude, you & the misses have fun & travel safe.
