So after going back and forth with Fuel Moto trying to get the bike dialed in, it's about as close as I can get it as it sits. It was sputtering a good bit, worked that out. Then it was running rich, worked that out but I have just a little sputter on acceleration but maybe once per ride.
I have the S&S 475c cam with jackpot headers and Cobra Neighborhaters.
I was told from the guy at Fuel Moto that does the tunes to get the best performance from this setup is to switch the slip-ons to something more restrictive than the Cobras are. More back pressure = less hesitation on acceleration. I like the sound of these tough. It's borderline loud for my taste and I think it sounds really good so I want to possibly change these out for something that will still give me a good loud, strong sound but give me that added restriction that is recommended so I don't have to keep chasing this tune around.
He recommended a 4" pipe. Names he said were Rinehart, Khrome Werks and S&S. I was looking at the Rinehart 4" DBX 40's but I have a hard time trying to listen to audio clips to know how they would sound on mine to know if it'd be worth it.
Anyone have some recommendations? As I said, I still want some good sound out of the bike so I want some good sounding pipes but with more restriction than the Cobras.
If you cant decide based on audio clips, how do you expect to decide based on someone using a few descriptive adjectives on a forum? I dont think thats the best way to decide which slip-ons you should purchase. Do you?
I have Rienharts, but they are 4.5" version. They sound good to me. I've also been hearing good things about TAB and CFR slip-ons as well. I have also been told that the Khrome Werks slip ons have a slightly deeper tone than Rienhart. No first hand experience though. Might be worth the time to go to a bike night and hang out and listen to the bikes. When you hear something you like, find out that they are.

I have cobra neighbor haters on my softail slim, they have a nice bark to them, have some deceleration popping but not bad enough, in my opinion, to warrant spending $1000 on a tune. The stock pipes were weak as hell, but it didn't pop on deceleration at all.
I put Reinhart DBX 45s (4.5") slip ons on my 2022 Road glide special a couple of weeks ago. I really like the sound, sometimes I get a very slight hesitation on the throttle when I accelerate from a stop, but this too is not enough to warrant a costly tune.
A friend of mine bought a tuner for his street glide special and he quickly realized there's more to tuning then he thought, it messed with his RDRS, ABS, etc. To be honest, I'm a computer guy, it's what I do for a living, I am not interested in taking a perfectly good running bike and messing with the onboard computers unless I know what I'm doing.
