A 2007 Street Glide with less than 5K on odometer. Has sat-up for about 6 weeks. During a short ride while stopped at a traffic light with the bike in neutral, a loud metallic bang x1 is heard coming from the motor/drive train;there is not skip or hesitation in the motor and no backfire; the bike easily goes into gear and drives normally. Alittle while later during the ride, the scenario repeats itself (stopped at light, drive train in neutral) - loud metallic bang x1.Any ideas? Stiking valve? You know the dealer won't even look until it is fatally broken. Fellas, I would appreciate any help with this.
I have an odd one that I hear at different times. Usually, I am moving but have heard it when sittig still.. Not an exhaust bang. But a sound as if something metal were dropped on a fender, but more tinny sounding. I think it is is the driveline though, as I am thinking it happens when releasing the throttle and pulling in the clutch.
lots of possibilities, you will have to supply more info, but....
