If I get the HogTunes Ultra Sound Kit, do I still need this wire-harness from HD?

If you check the Hogtunes website, you will see that the Ultrasound kit only provides a set of speakers and an amplifier for them.
This will not give you the additional capability of Bluetooth, CB, Intercom, XM radio, or rear speakers. For those options you must go with the HD wire harness or similar aftermarket product.

IMHO --- there are better sounding speakers for less $$$ I had hogtumes switched to Polk Audio---now have MB Quart they are excellent

No you don't need it. HD does not tell you after you buy and install that harness youneed to have the dealer activate the rear speakers and the other stuff you want to use. Another Hundred Dollers!
With the ultra sound kit it's plug and play and comes with all the wireing.
