2000 FLHTCI Electra glide fork removal & install help
Okay so I have to replace the right hand fork on my bike due to the fork stud getting snapped flush right at 14lbs putting wheel back on and trying every method to extract failed. So I figured instead of trying to re tap I ordered a right side fork replacement off e bay basically the whole thing with the slider and tube. I did my research and have ignition out everything ready to pull off however all these you tube videos show newer models mine has the air valve right on the top cap and it's got a collar around it I attached photos. Now another thing that I've noticed is this one I have coming came from a 2004 says it's perfect match however I don't think it has the same type cap I attached pics of what's coming any input or help greatly appreciated guys the top is completely different it seems how will or will it work What is on bike to remove Another picture
Im no expert here, and I dont have a qualified answer. However; Seller might take it back if its not correct, so check the return policy. Did the description mention adjustable? It does look different to me. Show a pic of what it is that got snapped off as there are plenty of innovative problem solving people on the forum.

Your bike is equipped with air assisted forks. The fork in the ad is not. I'm guessing, but I don't believe there is any internal differences between the two so you should be able to use your fork cap and air fitting on the new fork.
I just rebuilt the front forks on a 2004 Electra Glide that had been wrecked. I did not have that fitting. Never seen one like that. I would assume yours will install but I would like to know what it does. Replacing the top cap is hard, but easier if removed from bike. If not, get a friend to help. I climb on top and have a friend pull from below. Rubber gloves for grip help and "DO NOT" cross thread.

The earlier touring models had air fittings in the forks and in the handlebars to put air in the forks.
Okay thanks that's what I've been wondering the new one won't be here until Monday but I wanted to gather as much info as I could before removing. If I can't swap tubes I may just convert to airless and put same on other. Not sure how it would ride but another option is removing the line on that side And just use the one side until I get the other but I don't want to chance anything going south.. .. how hard is it to swap the actual tube it hopefully isn't too bad unless I find I can use that cap on this new tube.
All you need to do is remove air supply line bolts from top of tubes. Remove tube cap bolt. Spring has tension so be ware. Remove tube assembly. Take tube assembly you bought and remove top cap. Slide bought assembly back into place on trees. Install top cap bolt from original tube. As stated do not cross thread. Reinstall air supply bolts.
