Dealing with a bragging co-worker
he has an older CVO with a salvage title. He wont shut the **** up about it being a CVO. Admittedly it is a nice bike. Dont care for crazy color schemes it has, that is a preference neither here nor there.
I have a Road king, older, has less 10,000 miles when I bought it this spring. Great bike, stage 1. Co-worker J has 4 Harleys. Lives and breathes HD for bikes. J keeps his mouth shut and doesnt brag. J is a Talented MF. Example his shovel head. Complete rebuild, engine, tranny, paint leather work. J did all the work himself (short of machining hard parts) J never brags, barely mentions he did any of the work on his bike. After rebuilding/upgrading 4 Harleys currently in his fleet. So J and I decided to do a little creative writing and and take Bragert (B) down a peg. This is my narrative so far. Please let me know what you think. Remember creative writing exercise, so it has to be believable but can stretch the truth pretty far. My bike for reference 07 Road King. His is a 03 CVO Road King.
story:
Hey man just got my bike back and wanted to see if you wanted to go riding next week. Took it into Heywouldyoublowme Motorsports and had them go over the motor for me. Bored and stroked to a 114! Cam, ported screaming eagle heads, intake, injectors. Balanced and blue printed. I got sucked down the rabbit hole man. Started off with a cam, well then you need push rods and lifters. Well **** if we are that far into it might as well throw a big bore at it. Well hell for another $1150 you can go from a 110 to a 114. Plus another $1000 to true up the crank. Only another $500 to balance it. And another $1,250 to blueprint it. "Better than Harley" tolerance. Than it's "well we have to dyno and tune it"!dyno wasn't bad $300 another $500 to tune it. The killer tuner was $985. Why cheap out now.
First run after getting the motor done I dropped the clutch running some sport bike at a stoplight and blew apart the compensator in the primary. Cracked the case. Another $1,500. Might as well put in the better clutch while we are in there. That was July. More money and I still can't ride for another 6 weeks until the back order parts come in.
So I finally got the bike back today and can't wait to ride it. Making 123 HP and better 136 ft lb of torque. Paint almost slides off the saddle bags when you pin it in second gear!!
Look at your Avatar and give it some thought.....

Seriously, why care? He thinks his ride is the greatest in the world. Fine. Let him.
If you feel the need to tear someone else down to make yourself feel better Well, the problem isnt with the CVO rider.
Point taken.
I need to shut up and ride. Let him do his thing.
People like him are everywhere, better boat, bigger truck, nicer house, bigger lawn mower, you get the idea. Its an ego boost for them to justify to them that they are better than you in some small way.
The more you tweek these motors the potential for unreliability increases. Let him throw money into the internals and try to blast sport bikes at red lights. That way he can spend more money on keeping his bike on the road.
For me, I will just ride my ride with like minded riders and smile as we rack up miles.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
the point of the post was to F@&$!with my co-worker. I dont care what you do or what you ride. Every single thing is CVO , CVO,CVO,CVO,CVO, with this guy. Cool your bike is a CVO doesnt matter when you are talking about a battery tender.
not a troll on this site. Trying to f with a coworker. We **** with each other hard. Dude looses foot. Call him Eileen! True story.
Just a Teamster trying to bust another brothers over inflated *****. post something funny or fade away.
Never thought me messing with someone would cause this amount of backlash.
COMEDY MF ers was the point. This entire discussion had not a thing to do with performance of any bike. It was F with your friend.
