... the dealer ... said ... the [unnecessary] auto tune ... was mainly for altitude changes like the mountains ect.
And the first time you hit the mountains without having spent the extra for the auto-tune feature you'll cry like a baby. That would be enough incentive in itself.

Further incentives include such scenarios like an injector fading away, or a developing intake air leak, or a clogged fuel filter, etc. With the full-range closed-loop operation such things will be "taken care of" for a while. Periodically checking in with the logged data will allow trends to be monitored with creeping problems making themselves evident that way, but not by loss of driveability in and of itself in the mean time.

houdy;
the tmat is a fuel management only system.the timing is set by zipperat the factory.it allows you to tune the timing accordingly,however timing is fix until its adjusted by user.also the o2 sensors are esential for the auto tune feature to work.the computer is collecting a signal from the sensors in order to adjust afr.so do not allow the stealer to try and give you guys a bunch of bs in order to hide their imcompetense.also a lot of dealers do not like thundermax.it robs money away from the tunners.

I had the bungs put into a new Rinehart pipe for less than $40...The new TM unit has the auto tune built onto it, buy the whole thing, you'll never regret it. Shooter64 (Bart) on this forum can fix you up with one for a very decent price. Zippers will give you all the telephone and email support you can handle and there is a wealth of info on this forum. Philm is right, your dealer is really out of it telling you that crap, it is a lie, call Zippers and ask them...
