Default P0152 code and engine dies while riding

Hi everybody. Got myself a 2007 road king classic, most beautiful blue colour lol, had it for 2 years now. Has 25000 km on the odometer. Started having some issues with the p0152 code (o2 sensor)and a p1353 which was the front cylinder combustion issue. I would get a hesitation, misfire feeling in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear but only after start up. Crack the throttle a few times and the issue would be gone.

I checked the plugs, bought new ones and gapped them to spec, tge old ones were way under at .020". After that the misfire feeling was gone and p0152 code did not come back. I went on a 400 mile trip, got there no problem and no codes. Left the next morning and got about 20 miles down the road, merging onto the highway and the engine died. Just cut off like I hit the kill switch. Speedo went to 0, lights were still on. Started right back up ran 2 hrs until it happened again slowing down after having the cruise on for a bit. Took it to a mechanic and it ran fine for him when he took it out for a 60 mile ride. Today I went for a ride, and the p0152 code is back and the engine died while going down the road. Popped the clutch and it fired back up.

The bike had vance and hines slip ons, happened with the stock air filter as well as today with the hi flow air filter on.

Anyone have this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don't want to throw parts at it if there is a good way to test some of these things.

Thank you all! Sorry for the long message

Something similar happened to my Heritage after replacing the battery. Turns out I was sold a bad battery. Replaced it at the dealership and it's been fine since then.

I did have to replace tge battery, she had trouble starting. The voltage would drop down below 8 volts when pressing the start button and would have that slight hesitation before catching. But it seems to check out.

Hmmm. I would have the new battery checked by a pro.

How did the old spark plugs look? Oily? Is there a tuner or EFI device on the bike? If so you may be able to reduce the amount of fuel.

the plugs I took out didn't look too bad. A little darker than what they should be, but the new ones look like they're burning good, nice tan(ish) colour so far. No tuner yet, going to get it tuned soon though perhaps next week.

How was that voltage drop measured......?? If your voltage was measured on the bike's volt meter, they are notoriously inaccurate... Do the same test with a multi-meter connected right to the battery terminals,

A home-made load test for HD bikes is to put a multi-meter on the battery terminals and measure voltage when you hit the starter... If it momentarily drops to 9.5 volts during cranking, the battery is tired... Your battery dropped to 8.0 volts, it needs to be replaced..

It's always better to replace a battery on your own terms, in your own garage, rather than on the side of a roadway, or in a public parking lot...
