There are three "leather" bags from Road Kings. The RKC with straps to open; the Custom, no straps but a button; and the SE RK bags, different from the others and with a button to open. Any will fit, you will need to adjust the mounting brackets a little when you first put them on. If you go with a detachable passenger backrest you will need a spacer for the rear bag mount(moves the bag away from the fender a bit).
The Glide fairing on a Road King will require almost redoing the bike. Not a good idea. There are many many aftermarket fairings avail for the Road King, most with music capabilities and matching paint (extra$).
Do the RKC with a fairing, you'll both enjoy it.
I say, get the street sglide, and get the leater bags. There are guys on here looking to go hard bags, so make a trade. Either way, the bags are cheaper than a fairing.
Thanks guys, appreciate the info and ideas. Will take it all into consideration. Appreciate the support for what we (military) are doing from all you guys, you are the reason we do what we do; so we can ride our bikes when we want, where we want, and how we want!
Somebody had some for sale on the forum several days ago and somebody on here as a blacked out RG with the RKC leather bags. If yoy do a search, you might find both.
Okay, thanks guys. SOFTY.....don't worry, I will makesure you stay safe there in the states while I am here in Afghanistan. Just trying to decide what to do when I get back. Want a touring bike the way I want it.

Hey Joe no offense meant. Thanks for serving. Nam was my war,I showed up,but they sent me back home. Too fooked up they said..
I don't think I've used the fasteners on the straps maybe 3 or 4 times about 6k miles. Kind of like a pair of big tassels on each bag... Yipes!!!!! I did that one time for 50-60 miles and did not like what it did to the side of my bag, are yours just beat to sheet or what ???
None taken Softy, I enjoy talking on here to you guys that have been around HDs for a while, I always learn something new and it helps me "get away" from this place for a little while. I do appreciate your advice and comments. They do not go unheard.
