I have a 98 Electric Glide Standard, recently I had to replace my inner batwing fairing, due to being stupid and financially challenged I could not afford a new OE inner fairing so (here's the stupid part) I bought one off of amazon, everything looked the same but when I go to mount the outer fairing the holes don't line up, just slightly out of alignment, enough to prevent the 3 upper outer bolts to go in.
So I'm wondering if anyone has ever completely removed the outer and inner fairing an converted their bikes to what looks like a roading. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears and eyes.

If alignment is that little off ya might try barley starting all the screws so the fairing can be shifted around to get them all started.
Then tighten everything up
Unless you're willing to relocate a bunch of guages, headlight and wiring and have a bunch of hassle for a not-so-great look, i would find a way to make the one you bought work. You could perhaps relocate the mounting holes or posts. Harbor Freight has a cheap plastic welder.
