RE: ~ 30F Cooler engine for $20 - this worked for me!!!
Okay guys, from what barneyZ71 said in his post, it provides more air flow for the rider. I have an '07 RG and had never heard of this air baffle until this tread. I can tell you it does not redirect air away from your face. I had to switch to googles because there was so much air coming from underneath my glasses would almost blow off.

Just put one on...took about 10 minutes with no need to retap the holes. For some reason they only give you two bolts though. I will ride later tonight to see if it stops the wind in my face.

If you put this baffle on, and I have one and like it, Do yourself a favor and chase the threads with a tap first. they will have paint in them and a ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, (AKA drilling out a broken screw from an awkward position.)

Their original design came out for bikers that had allot of facial hair,... as in beards from from curiling up in their face. If you can get them at 10 or 20 bucks. grab it now. A Dealership over here on the coast in NC is selling the chrome ones for 80 bucks!!! Black ones are better. Less maintenance. The chrome ones rust very easily around the crimps that are set in their design to strengthen its form.

Ok, I finally go my air baffle today from my local stealer. Installed it as soon as I got it home.I went for a couple of30 minute ridesup to the pass.At cruising speed I noticed there was less wind blowing behind the batwing.I followeda couple of 18 wheelers on my ride. I noticed there wasn't any wind buffing; throwing the bike around.I did notice the trees and brush on the sides of the road blowing around like crazy. There were several big trucks going the opposite way; and usually I get a blast of wind from the trucks. I didn't notice it this evening after the baffle install. I stopped at the RR tressle part way up the pass and checked to feel how hot my engine was. It seemed to be runing much cooler then before the baffle install. I closed the fairing lowers and rode on. The engine does run cooler. I get less wind on my legs; lowers opened or closed; and it feels cooler. Overall I say this was a good $20 bucks spent. I believe the baffle directs more cool air on the air temp sensor, causing the bike to run richer. Maybe that's why the moco took them off?
