Default Headlight modulators anyone?

Tried a Kisan PathBlazer headlight modulator on my 2005 Roadking, never could get it to work. Does anyone else out there use headlight modulators that work? The guys at Kisan says that some models of Harley have a chassis controller that monitored headlights so modulators won't work on them.

I’ve had the Kisan modular on all of my prior Harleys, and they worked well.

I do believe they help tremendously with visibility.

It would modulate when I had the ignition on but once you started the engine, it wouldn't work. Mine flashed the bright light 4 times and then would just stay on with no modulation. They say you can adjust the modulation by hitting the high/low beam 3 times but it never did anything for me.

I've heard that the driving lights can be modulated as long as they flash in unison and not wig-wag like a police vehicle. I'd be more likely to do that than the main beam I think but I've been interested in modulating for visibility.

I wonder if there would be any detrimental effects on an LED unit? I wouldn't think so, since LED drivers modulate the chip constantly anyway...

Makes your headlight flash off and on.

Improved visibility, as the flashing light catches peoples attention.

Others think your a cop, or are having electrical issues.

Not a fan myself, but do what you want.

The unit does not flash the light.
It dims your high beams down to about 17% brightness, then brings it back up to full brightness again then dims it again etc. The light never goes completely out.

Flashing lights are illegal on most vehicles. Headlight modulators cycle between 20% and max voltage. The law also requires a method to ensure no pulsing at night.

Headlight modulators can also confuse some folks as to speed and distance , just like very bright lights do.

They are annoying.

Yes they are annoying. They do their job while being very annoying. I had a guy follow me with one of those things for an hour. I finally had to get behind him. They should be outlawed.

Did I mention they are annoying???

I have had one on previous bikes. After installing them I noticed a distinct reduction in drivers attempting to turn in front of me. I recognize that if stopped behind someone that the pulsing light could be very annoying so I ways turned the front end to avoid constantly flashing in their mirrors. They're legal in all 50 states by federal law and aside from good riding skills probably one of the best safety devices a motorcyclist can have. I do have a brake light modulator installed.that flashes four times then goes steady.
