I hadinstalled the Screamin Eagle Street Performance Slashcut down exhausts with the Stage One Download and Screamin Eagle A/C on my 07 EGC.
The sound is perfect for me (definitely louder than stock--the service rep and I A/B tested these exhausts against some of the other SE exhausts and the stock ones on some rental bikes). They sound like a Harley should. They won't be loud enough for some, but for me, they are fine. I alsoposted my dyno results for feedback. The Stage One did richen it up some. The link is below.
you still can get the SE II ,06 model pipes,,, they were, and still are made by supertrapp
I have them they are called supertrapp SE's
I had them on my 07,,,, great tourning pipe,,,, not obnoxiuos,,,
I have yet to put them on my 08...... wondering if SE stage 1 down load is the way to go?
easy- thats the set-up I ordered. Glad to here you like it. It took a year for me to make up my mind and just do it.
I had Roadhouse Slipons on my previous bike and decided to tone down the sound a little. I waited until the dealer had installed most of the available 07 street legal SE exhaust options on his rental fleet before deciding. I was able to hear them before I purchased them. A friend purchased the 4" touring mufflers but they were almost identical, maybe even softer sounding than stock. I don't know if its the design or the fact that the sound is reflecting off the ground due to the slash down fins---but they meet my needs. I suspect the Stage One download and the free flow SE A/C may help contribute to the pleasing rumble.Hope yours works out as well as mine did.
Truth be told, the dealer/shop/indy has to deal with the EPA crap on every road-going bike. The days of them richening the fuel mixture are numbered. It's not going to be worth it to them unless maybe they can get the happy customer to foot the tens of thousands of dollars fine.
