My gawd you’re absolutely right. I never thought of that. How did we ever manage without it? You’ve completely changed my opinion about this.
Thanks

My phone sits up there on my handlebars as a GPS. Since it’s a phone, and I can install apps on it, I use three different GPS’s for different things. Google Maps, Organic Maps, and Towards being my favorites.

It also serves duty as a riding camera, facing forward. Though I still may someday buy a helmet camera.

And since I have helmet speaker system, I use one of the streaming apps to play music and such.

I guess that's why I buy cheap android phones, if it breaks oh well I'm out $50.00 bucks, but I've never had one of my cheap phones break on the bike, I guess I'm not going to attach a $1500 dollar phone to my bike, and I do have a Tackform mount

No. I use the Quad Lock with a vibration dampener and have had no problems.

Thanks to this thread I’m making a switch from Rokform to Takform . Good thing they had 60 days return.

Rokform was $200+ and only has a height of 5”from handlebars. Takform is half the cost and has tons of options for extension arm. I’m thinking of getting 8” arm. It should be high enough to bring my phone at eye sight.

Having the GPS (phone) at eye level is much safer than looking down at a screen imho as I do not have to look down at a GPS, I keep my eyes in the same direction of travel, not looking up and down.

and it is MUCH safer than reading a map like the “old school” folks used to (maybe still?) do.

The old school folks weren’t in motion when they were looking at their maps! Eye level, *** level, who cares . They aren’t looking where they need to…consequences are tragic!
