This was my buffeting solution: Clearview 17.5" GT with a vent and enlarged headlight nacelle opening. You have to talk to them (Craig) to get the larger opening but it only cost $20 or so but cannot be added after the shield is formed.

For buffeting, I added lowers from Amazon which, a year later, have held up perfectly (you need to buy the lower tube clamps from HD because the ones they come with don't fit around the engine guards). I have tried the tank lift kits, air deflectors, and fork fangs, and none of them worked. The lift kit and air deflectors were just ineffective. The fork fangs worked perfectly and would be the go-to solution, but they block cooling air to the engine and in the summer it was like straddling a full-on wood stove. The Clearview and Lowers (and a new, slightly snugger helmet) fixed all my buffeting issues.

I feel that way every time I ride my King , don't think I'll ever let it go . When I did my clearview windshield , I noticed a lot wind ( not really buffeting ) coming up from both sides of the tank , I put the " fangs " on it and it made a huge difference , especially on cold days . You can easily take them off when your riding on hot day , I do .

I wear a modular , don't like the chin guard , but the same as you , I wore half helmets for most of my riding life , not anymore , got spoiled . Having the full face visor helps when it's pouring rain on a long ride / trip .

Enjoy the ride , nothing like a King to see the world from where we were meant to see it .

Ride safe !
