I have probably three mounts from Tackform all of them great, and just moved up to this one since I'm taking longer trips.
To be honest, I'm not completely in love with the mount as it takes up a bunch of space but it charges my phone fine and is a tank (all metal) which is a pretty much the standard with Tackform...
They all probably work including the $20 ones, but you think you are getting for $20 probably/ Ha. Maybe I could have got used to it, I really didn't try, but I just didn't like the ciro infront on my controls. It did seem like it locked good, which is why I tried it.
True. However, It have adjusted it out and away from the controls as much as possible, it is still a bit close to the buttons.
Brandon, here on the forum, has the Ciro center faring mount. I have read reviews where it has broken off while in use. I'd hate to have my phone go flying off the bike so I will take the "wait and see what happens" posture before I get the center fairing mount. I am trying to find a GPS that does not have a thick chunky profile and will fit into the Ciro phone holder. It can't be any taller than 3.3". I found a couple on amazon but still haven't pulled the trigger on them yet. This is one of those times where I need to see it, hold it, and test fit it in the Ciro holder. Most specs sheets don't provide how deep (or thick) the GPS is. Fairing Mount
I have been running phones mounts for 12 years now at least. There are many good ones on the market. I’ve tried at least three that I can remember and never had a phone lost or damaged.
That said for the last few years it has been Rokform all the way for me. One on each bike and a mount in my car.
What I like about it is first the billet aluminum design which look great. There are no rubber bands, springs, straps, etc to fumble with or risk failure. The cases they offer for the phones are first class.
Yep, poor man t-bars. The first 1-1/2 inch bars I have owned. I get a lot of comments on them, most positive. They are LA Chopper Threshers in 16 inch. I really like the narrow width. Very comfortable on my back and shoulders.
FYI- Rokform does not have a bar clamp for the 1-1/2 diameter bars. That’s Why I went with the perch mount system.
I had looked at 12" bars as my shoulder says no go on anything taller and the Techmount I use has them for 1 1/2" bars. I currently have 1 1/4" heritage-style bars now and this is the setup for my GPS/phone.
