I had to replace the outer fairing and one lower on my 2011 Ultra (don't ask...) a couple of years ago. Bought the batwing in black from Hog Works and it matched perfectly. Only thing is it is missing the silver pinstripe the Ultra has but the headlight bucket and all other hardware lined up well with the mounting points, no issues. The original seemed to have more substance to it and the paint was a littler deeper if your really look close but that may be just my OCD, the HW replacement still looks really good. I ended up buying the lower off eBay, some shop had some new old stock they were getting rid off so I lucked out.
I bought a Hogworks rear fender extension from another member here. I had trouble getting the tri bar light installed due to the tab holes weren't milled just right. I managed to get them in but barely. The member later told me that was why he was selling it. He couldn't get the light mounted properly. That would have been nice to disclose.
I am very thankful for all the input. My next step is to go to the dealer and find out how much the painted lower fairing parts will cost to compare the prices. Meanwhile I'm looking through Ebay, and found a complete set of lowers that looks a little rough in Red Hot Sunglo.
Having purchased Advanblack lowers for my FLHR, I would say the color match was very good but the material quality not so good. I am sure Hogworks is the same.
My advice is to get your lowers painted at a good paint shop. They can match your color (and fade) better than an off the shelf product and you will still have the quality of the OEM part...

New color matched H-D lowers are gonna be at least twice the Hogworkz is my guess. I have the color matched H-D lowers for my '13 King and paid about $675 but that was 10 years ago.
Hey there.
My lowers on my 2009 FLHTCU Ultra Classic are showing their age.
Chipped paint and the left one has cracks around the lower mounting bolt.
I'm thinking of freshening them up with new paint but at what cost.
In comes Hogworks. So, my question is this: Is the quality of Hogworks up to par with
HD fit form and function? How accurate is the paint matching?
I know some of the folks here have Hogworks items on their bikes.
This is what I was looking at. Lowers
went to your link. noticed they don't show any pics of the lowers from the front side.except for the small one with all the parts. see, the problem i have with the aftermarket lowers is the glovebox. hd's are a nice rubberized box, while the aftermarket ones are a cheesy textured plastic. so what i did was to buy the cheap lowers off of amazon, paid right at $100 for them. but, mine are vivid black so i didn't have to worry about color matching. then i bought the genuine hd glove boxes. that was another $100. now my lowers are virtually indistinguishable from genuine hd. these are 5 years old now, if i have to replace them in a couple of years, i'll go the same route again.

Thanks. I called the dealer and that said that they are obsolete.
I will look into your plan. I can always have then color matched buy a local paint shop.

The issue with the OEM left one is a crack at the bottom bolt.
OK, I found a set of OEM lowers on EBAY that look like they are in pretty good shape, They are off of a tri-glide.
Are these compatible with my 2009 FLHTCU? I can't tell if they are. Ebay Lowers
