Hey there.
My lowers on my 2009 FLHTCU Ultra Classic are showing their age.
Chipped paint and the left one has cracks around the lower mounting bolt.
I'm thinking of freshening them up with new paint but at what cost.
In comes Hogworks. So, my question is this: Is the quality of Hogworks up to par with
HD fit form and function? How accurate is the paint matching?
I know some of the folks here have Hogworks items on their bikes.
This is what I was looking at. Lowers

Reason: grammer
Ive purchased 2 items from Hogweks. Not lowers though. A black low profile tank dash. Looks great. It cracked around the gas cap. HW sent me a new one no questions asked. I also purchased the engine heat deflectors in Chrome Yellow. Color is close but not exact. Fit was perfect.
I bought some Hogworkz Vivid Black midframe air deflectors, since they carry them in stock. Same as Advanblack I believe.
I was looking for something on my bike with a bright flashlight in my dim garage, and noticed the paint didn’t match factory Vivid Black. But that is the only way I could tell.
The other painted parts I have bought have been HD.
From what I have read and heard Hogworkz and AdvanBlack parts are lower quality (thinner plastic, crappy hardware, etc.). I have a set of mid-frame color matched air deflectors and I had to drill my own holes because they didn't line up correctly. Also had to use buy HD hardware to mount them properly. However, the color match was spot on (Billard Blue). That being said, I'd imagine the color will be off regardless of how good a job Hogworkz does since you bike is now 14 years old and I'd assume your factory paint has faded. I'd think a newly painted part would stick out against the rest of the bike.
