Default Ultra Lowering Help Needed

I just purchased a new 2008 Ultra and traded my 1998 Heritage. I love the new bike but I’m considering having it lowered by using the Profile Low Touring Shocks and the Touring Front Lowering Kit. My inseam is 30” and I have no trouble reaching the ground but the new bike is quite a bit higher then my old ride and my flexibility just isn’t what it used to be. My questions are will I lose some ride comfort and will the lowering really do me any good. Thanks for your input!

Yes it will ride rougher and stiffer, the shorter rears are what come on a street glide, I noticed a very big difference in ride quality. You could send your seat to mean city cycles and let allen reshape it to get you lower, he does a great job and can get you 1-2 inches lower for 40.00. and seat still looks stock.

Try a pair of riding boots with 2+ inch heels. They sell them at the stealer. I have the low profile front and rear on my bike and also wear boots with larger heels. After riding the bike for a few weeks you will get use to the weight and height of the bike. You get stronger, the bike feels lighter and lower.

Thanks for the good advice. It sounds as if a new seat or a seat redo is the way to go. I'll call Mean City Cycles.

I just had my seat lowered by Mean City on my Ultra. I have a 29" inseam and now have no problems riding in tennis shoes if i wish. Allen does great work.

Default Motorcyclemetal/Penske Shocks

We can make shocks as short as 9 1/2" just by changing the shaft part to the appropriate part #. As long as you stay within these limits, full travel of 2 1/2" is met. No difference in ride quality. These shocks are fully rebuildable, shim packs, valving and spring rate are changeable. If you buy another bike, parts can be changed to the new configuration and the shocks are upgradeable at any time. Truly life time shocks and 1 1/2 years in development for HD/V-Twin. Finally a real shock for your Harley. Shocks are delivered custom made for your bike and is dependent on your bikes weight, model, your weight, load carried (such as % of time you pack), and riding style. Developed on the track and made for the street. These shocks are not at all what you are use to in the HD market.

All information can be attained. Your problem is solved.
