Just today, I went to a local "8 Ball Motorcycle Tire" shop. They have the best prices locally. Much, much better than a Dealer.
I bought a Dunlop American Elite MH90-21 front tire @ $153.99.
I bought a Dunlop American Elite MT90B16 74H rear tire (not to be confused with that size front tire ending in 72H) @ $229.99.
I always remove the wheels from the bike myself, and bring them in. They only charge $30 per wheel to remove the old tire, then mount & balance the new tire if you bring the wheels in. They balanced my spoke tires using the chrome spoke weights at no extra charge.
I told him I wanted "fresh" tires because on this bike, I will most likely have the tires timed out, rather than wear out. I contacted him last Friday, he went through his inventory, and called me back yesterday. The rear tire DOT date code was 4323 and the front was 0224....
They have been my go to tire shop for about 15 years. I almost stopped using them because last time I went, the shop manager was like talking to a used car salesman, luckily he was short lived. This time there was a new shop manager, and he was great to work with...
