You would appreciate the water from about a month ago when I was up there. Not my picture, but to give you an idea...... dozens of people were kayaking there.

What ever is on my 2019 GPS is fine for me. I use it for back roads most of the time. Interstates don't change that much if I had to use them. Paper maps work for me, after over 3M miles driving a truck without a GPS I guess I'm Old School.

You and me both. I take along my Garmin and use it in new places. In my former life working for a sales company, those Thomas Guides came in handy.

i find that if you add enough waypoints, the gts won't be trying to change your route as much. remember, your bike nav settings can have an effect on any uploaded routes as well.

I was just gonna say the same thing, waypoints are your best friend, remember you need them literally every time you 'drag' a route as that is off the way Harley wanted to take you. Plus it will get you back on your preferred route if you take a wrong turn

Yes...I've had lots of luck with a waypoint just after every turn (about 50 or 100 yards down the road) and zoom in and make sure the waypoint is right on the road. This way the GPS will make all the turns you need to stay on route.
And just as important is that if you happen to miss a waypoint, make sure to go in and cancel the last waypoint (easily done) otherwise the GPS will keep wanting to take you back to it.

The weather is shitty here, so I've spent time getting aquatinted with the HD Ride Planner. It's probably OK for nerds, but it doesn't blow my skirt up at all. I'll keep playing with it though. Maybe I'll learn to like it.

What came as a big surprise is that the invoice for the map update is from a company in Budapest Hungary. This could explain why the HD Nav sucks so bad, and it's probably the same company that makes some of the HD t-shirts.

Why would it being from Hungary make it worse ?
You are aware they are a forward advanced country ?

That's nice but their maps of America suck. They'll probably get you to Starbucks and back home though.

I had no trouble with it.

My apologies, I sometime forget that the internet is such serious business and that there are overly sensitive people out there.
