RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
I have the Piston end 4" SE street performance touring pipes on my 103" 07FLHX . When they were new they weren't much different than stock till you got them to past 3000. I've got about 2000 miles on them now and they get better all the time . I can now hear them rumble at 2500. Not as throaty as my 02 SE II slip-ons , yet anyway .. but way different than when new. .
RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
Let me ask, I want to put the SE Street performance mufflers on my 07 FLHTC. I just spoke to the stealer and he says the pipes are 399.00, 80 to 100 for both end caps, 139.00 for hi flow AC, 149.00 for calibration and 2.5 hours labor. In short, it's a quick 1K tab to get some sound.
I am only interested in getting some sound, and not playing with the motor and ECU, been there, done that. My question is this, can I just install these mufflers without any other modifications, or am I asking for trouble/probelms?

Lots of folks running just the slip-ons with no A/C upgrade or download. These same riders have posted they're having no problems.
I personally would do the complete Stage 1 (including a/c) and the slip-ons at the same time, but again, I do not believe you have to.
RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
I have a set of the Touring Mufflers that came stock on the '07 SE Road King. They are the big4" pipes & have the interchangeable tips. While they are only slightly louder than stock- they aredeeper in tonethan stock. No d/l required.
To see what they look like go to the H-D website, & look under the '07 CVO SE Road King.
I'm looking to sell them- anyone interested can PM me with an offer. Excellent condition & I can provide exact part numbers and picsas necessary.

They said the d/l would suck even though you're only putting slipons & an a/c on?
I wonder if the fact that they'll make about $350 more with the sale of a SERT over just the d/l is influencing their"recommendation" any... [sm=confused06.gif]
RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
Your dealer wants to sell you a SERT. If you were eventually going to other after market exhausts or even a stage 2 build, then the SERT would be a better option. I won't be myself. My dealer stated it was overkill to them to go with a SERT or even a PC III if all you were doing were the SE exhausts. They did recommend the SE A/C to let it breath a little and of course you maximize alittleHP and torque gain with the exhausts. The Harley Download is programmed to deal with the SE free flow A/C (Stage One). I now have almost 10,000 miles with just the Stage One Download and SE A/C with no issues. It runs great.

One dealer near me said they wont put slip ons on a bike without AC and tuner. He said it coult burn up the motor from being to lean!! The dealer I'm getting my bike from said no problemwith just changing the slip ons. I'm thinking I will take the risk with some VH Ovals or VH Slash Cut.
Later I would like to do the AC and download or tuner. I don't plan on doing anything more to the motor and would like to skip the tuner if I can. My dealer said I would need a tuner to make the bike cooler, thata stage one only (just a typical download) wouldn't do much.
What do you guys think?
RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
thanks for your information. But now im a little confused. the dealer made it sound sort of like, and I quote"guess you could try the download ,but sert or pc would make it run better...ect...suck...gas...blah,blah" they know I am buying it online and there ok with that just so as long as they get to install it and dyno it for my 7 year warrenty to remain in effect"except thejugs" they told me.[&:]
