RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
128auto,
I've heard riders describe a set of pipes as quiet (like stock), loud or having a nice rumble, so everyone has a different interpretation. A lot of pipes sound good idiling or slow speeds, but are loud on the open road; a little rumble above stock is all I want, that's why I was considering the S E Street Performance Touring Pipes.

I don't have the slash tips, but can definitely comment on the mufflers themselves. I bought the fishtails for mine. When new, these mufflers are pretty quiet - a little louder than stock, but a much deeper tone. At highway speeds they were just barely audible. But now that the packing has settled down over 5k miles, they have gotten louder. Still not as loud as my old V&H Oval Slip-Ons, but audible at highway speeds. Going under a bridge you can really hear them, very deep and I would say "twice" as loud as stock. I am really pleased with them.

I like mine and I have the one piece slash down SE Performance street ones, they are louder and much better sounding than stock but not as loud as v-h ovals. To me they sound better than any others Ive had, but I wanted a little less noise too.
RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
I have them on order and have one question. I wanted to go with quite but slightly louder than stock and also the simplest ecm adjustment. will the dealer do a HD download ~150 bucks or will he insist on a sert? btw also ordered se a/c along with them. Wanted to at least try the simple($) thing first then maybe in a year think about changeing fuel mng.
RE: Slash cut S E Street Performance Touring Mufflers
I went ahead and had the Harley Stage One Download installed with the SE Air Cleaner when I installed my SE exhausts.
That's all you need if you are just going with the SE Slipons.
I liked my dyno results considering this is the only mods I made. Got a small increase in HP and Torque, plus the download improved (richened up) the air/fuel mixture a bit.
I also added the oil temp gauge and have yet to get over 245 even on thoseover95 degree days in traffic.
