it's the remote control for the little convex mirror mounted on the lower part of the left fairing on an UC.

If you turn the star wheel in far enough JB Weld is dispensed from the hole in the end of the right grip

He said under the LEFT hand controls.
Perhaps he is confused or is in front of bike looking back.
If it is under the throttle, it was originally used to temporarily hold the throttle a little more open during warm up.
But is not meant to be used as a cruise control. Although people do use it as such.
Normally when cruise is added to the bike it is removed and the remaining hole is plugged.
Couple companies offer a doo-dad to slip over it to make it easier to tighten slightly while riding and easier to release/

What are these guys telling you???? People always tell what you CAN use it for rather than WHAT it's for.

It applies tension to the throttle(return) to eliminate or lessen wrist Fatigue. Which is why it is called a "Tension Adjuster Screw"
Set it with a little friction and it takes a little of the pressure of the return spring off of your wrist. No matter how much you twist it down, you can always push/return the throttle.
That is unless you have a limp wrist, and if that is the case you shouldn't be on a bike in the first place.
What normally happens is someone over tightens it, forgets about it, and then overracts when they have to push the throttle back, rather than it springing back in it's own.

Don't let these guys freak you out. It's there for a reason. I can't think of one person sueing HD for a stuck throttle related to this thing.... I use it often without a problem.

I went out and looked for this on my Ultra but couldn't find one but I found this neat little air valve on the left handlebar. Is this to add air so the throttle is stiffer?Or is this where the JB weld comes out?

While we are on the subject, I can't find the JB Weld filler hole. I know I'm about out. Is that the silver **** on the lower left of the fairing?
BTW,someone said these bikes have a cigarette lighter! Where is that located at?

Thanks for all your wonderful responses!
Now I know what I must do:
Remove the Tension adjuster from from my RIGHT hand controls. But I don't wanna end up with a limp wrist, so... While holding the throttle wide open, fill the hole with JB Weld and allow to dry. Next, search for my Zippo to light a cigarette because I don't have a cigarette lighter - it's a Road King. Finally, fire up the beast and hang on!

Thanks, you guys are the best!

Harley never intended it's use a cruise control, it was there when we all had carb bikes. As someone stated, it was for fast idle to assist in warm ups, But, you can use it as you see fit, lock it down and hang on.....I would't do it, but that's me....[8D]

I don't use it for warm ups. I use it as a poor man's cruise control. I seldom actually use it, because I have a throttle boss, but, when riding with no hands, I set it and cruise. LOL

I have carpol tunnel in my right hand and will use it often for cruising. I never had a problem, but for some I could see where they could have a problem gettign use to it.
