No it's NOT for cruise control. Never said that. Again, you may have used it to help with carb warm ups... but the true intent is:
It applies tension to the throttle(return) to eliminate or lessen wrist Fatigue. Which is why it is called a "Tension Adjuster Screw."

Harley never intended it's use a cruise control, it was there when we all had carb bikes. As someone stated, it was for fast idle to assist in warm ups, But, you can use it as you see fit, lock it down and hang on.....I would't do it, but that's me....[8D]
Man I just discovered this today On the bike and boy am I having fun. I had a dirt bike that had one of these hehehe.
It works out great cuz 8 years ago I had an accident and my tenon for my thumb was cut but had a doc who fixed it up best he could. I thought oh boy there goes hitchhiking let alone riding again. Lolololol.
I was just recently thinking about getting some cruise control gadget as my thumb was getting stiff with all the riding I been doing on my new sporty.
Woohoo now I can light a smoke and keep riding hahaha.
