2008 Ultra Classic. I was heading home from work. My battery light came on for about three minutes and then went off, voltage charge gauge went back up to 15 volts. I drive for about another 25 miles and then I no gears. The clutch lever felt fine and it seemed as if it was shifting thru the gears, but it wouldn't move.
A few questions: 1) Do you have the original OEM compensator in the primary? 2) Any clanking clunking noise? 3) With the bike in gear and the clutch out can you move the bike?
We could guess all day long but the issue does sound like it is in the primary or the tranny and if you have the OEM comp then that is my guess. Inspect the primary components and the tranny.

If the bike starts, that would tell me that between the starter ring and the comp is good. That would send me looking from the clutch back. Take the derby over off and see if pulling the clutch lever gives you movement.

1. yes original OEM compensator
2. no clunking noise at all
3. yes, I can move the bike in gear
How many miles are on the bike? I'll throw my guess out there...im going to say the splines inside the clutch hub are completely stripped out and the transmission mainshaft is just spinning away.
