Buddy's Ultra Wouldn't Start

Buddy's Ultra Wouldn't Start
My buddy has an 07 Ultra and this afternoon it would not start. He washed the bike early this morning and then rode several times throughout the day. Late this afternoon he rode to the store and when he came out, bike would not start. Bike was in neutral, kill switch and ignition on, but nothing, nada. Him and a friend tried push (he said that was a *itch) starting, no go. Closest dealer to him is over 100 miles away and they said get it to them and they could get to it the middle of next week maybe. His friend went to get a trailer and while gone he tried one more time and it fired right up and has fired several more times since. We are planning a weekend ride, but we really don't want his bike to get stranded somewhere. He does havethe Cobramanagement system. I suggested to disconnect it if does it again. Any ideas on what else we might check?

Make sure the ground wire on the starter is tight, take it out and re crip the wire. This is the white plastic tab with the green wire on the starter. I have heard of them coming loose before.

I agree with both above suggestions. My trike was doing fine and after a wash it wouldn't start. After experiencing stealer maintenance expertise before, I checked the battery terminals and both were loose. I tightened them and everything is happy ever after.

happened to me neg batt cable was lose at frame ! it happens.. very common...
check it !

My 07 did that a few times and found that my switch needed cleaning. I wiggled it and it started. Not the on/off on the handle bars but the main switch. Not saying it is your case just saying what happened to mine. I spayed contact cleaner in it real good-1/3 can- hasn't done it since. Contact cleaer will take care of any water.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. It was the negative battery cable that was barely even connected. My buddy wanted me to Thank all for the quick and very helpful responses.
