I'm chasing a rattle that I initially thought was a lifter, but now that I'm actually trying to find it, it sounds like it's coming from the primary.
If you have an AIM SDR does it rattle at idle?
I noticed the rattle while on a trip last week. If it was there before I didn't notice it, but it's possible that it's not new. I changed my oils yesterday and switched from HD heavy gear oil in the primary back to Formula+ and the noise seems more pronounced. <shrug>
What comp are you running 702? OEM or aftermarket? The Darkhorse MOW I ran for a while gave me an awful neutral rattle to the point that I went back to the SE comp.
I rode down to my old shop to use a stethoscope, and have a younger set of ears listen to it too. It was rattling when I left home, rattling at the first couple of stop lights, and after a 10 mile run on the interstate at 80 mph, there was no rattle when I got there. That's good news for me, but damn, I wish I knew what it was. I'll see what happens tomorrow on a cold start.
LOL
I do have to wonder about the tolerance stacking of our various clutch, pressure plate, basket, and comp setups.
I am going with a new Barnett Kevlar set of discs, hoping some weird noise doesn't pop-up
You know how it is when you have a bunch of aftermarket goodness from several manufacturers, the min/max spec gets...wide
And your wallet gets skinny. One thing always leads to another. I thought it would be cool to have a backrest again, and ended up with a new seat, new backrest, and a fender rack. My wife thought I needed counseling, but when I remind her about you I'm safe again for a while. 🤣
