I just replaced my compensator on my 2011 with 50,000 miles. It came with the updated screamin eagle version.
It was making a rattling sound and sometimes a pecking sound coming from the front of the primary.
No problems starting or backfiring.
When I inspected the compensator everything was tight. I couldn't move it by hand at all.
I removed the compensator and found that the ramps had small indents where the lobes were jamming into it.
I replace the compensator and install and new chain tensioner since I was in there.
Nice and quiet now with no more chain slap when giving it throttle.
Very easy job. Only took me a couple hours to replace.
