My question is....When the cooling fan turns ON, does the rear cylinder always shut OFF....or are the two features independent of each other? I ask because, today my fan kicked on BUT the rear cylinder didn't shut down. Outside air temp was 75-80 degrees,

It's worked fine in the past, but I can recall IF the the rear cylinder ever shut off when the cooling fans came on.
Bike runs great, no limp mode just wondering about the above.
OK...I just "assumed" that IF the cooling fans kicked ON then the engine should be hot enough to shut down the rear cylinder. I know that , in the past, I recall the rear cylinder cutting out when sitting in hot weather but just can't recall the fans also kicking on at the same time.
EXCELLENT...thanks so much.
From what they say, my guess is the ambient temp or coolant temp wasn't high enough to meet the parameters for the rear cylinder to turn off, even IF the cooling fan DID TURN ON.
The system has worked flawlessly in the recent past so I'm assuming all of the parameters weren't met.
