NorthWestern - that's an awesome pic, this is a Bucket list for me - I want to ride there and do the Going to the sun road, I just can't get the vacation time all in one shot. Figure ill need 2 weeks minimum from where I am in PA to get there and back plus enjoy the area.

I rode through on Labor day weekend 3 years ago. Had to have a reservation but being a veteran there was no park fee. I went early morning and it was 30 degrees. Nice and sunny on the east side then mostly shade on the west. Cold as hell but a beautiful ride. The next day I rode out of Gallatin Mt over Beartooth pass. 30 degrees again but by the time I got to Red Lodge it was 85. Mind the buffalo and elk!

I love taking pics. This heart of something mountain, if I remember right.
From Glacier to Banff and Jasper, which I highly recommend. Take the snow coach onto the columbia ice fields.

We flew into Missoula, got a bike from the local stealership, stayed in Kalispell rode to GNP. from there stopped at Cislo's Family Restaurant in Evergreen (good food). We pulled up to the gate to the park and were waved thru, did I mention this was many, many years ago. Great ride and we stopped at an overlook and looked down into the valley below, what an incredible view for this flat lander from the mid-west The restaurant in the park is $$$..

Thank you all for all of the info! I now have enough information to plan my adventure. Departing Golden, CO on 7/28 to Billings and on 7/29 up to Browning and into the park after 3:00 pm over to Kalispell to see family. Route home will be via Beartooth pass but haven't exactly figured out that route yet, but two epic passes in 1 trip.
