Default IDS "Stealer" Installation

I’m ordering an IDS from Zanotti’s with the bearing pressed on.

Question: what should I expect to pay to have it installed at the “stealer”? Anyone have it done?

I’d do it myself but do not have a lift/jack at this time [:@]

I was told list price plus 1 to 1.5 hour @63.00. I ordered from discountbiker.com and will do the installation myself.

$228 from Zanotti's to my door, including the $12 to have the bearing pressed. Dealer quoted 1.5 hrs installation.

is this the kit to quiet the 5th gear noise?
I test rode an 98 heritage classic thursday and it had the 5th gear noise.
Today, saturday, i test rode an 08 street glide and it didnt have the 5th gear noise.
In fact that was a very sweet riding bike, now im trying to decide between a glide or roadking!

You can buy a lift with the money you'll save doing it yourself!

I talked my dealer into doing it for a flat $40.00. Convinced him I'd behis "test case" since he claimed he'd never heard about IDS fixing the clatter issue. It did fix it, and I told him so. He acted surprised. Also said he'd never quote another install at $40.00!!

My dealer did the deed for $253.27 complete. We had a prior arrangement when I bought the Ultra to do a Stage I at his cost. I then decided a Stage I wasn't needed so I dickered with him for the IDS. He wiggled and squirmed but I paid a Zanotti price for the part, and $60 labor ($82 is the going rate), plus tax. I be happy rider now. Works great.[sm=Awwww.gif]

How close are you to needing a back tire? That's when I am planning on doing it. You might can bargain with the dealer at that time.
