I'm just applying that same thought process to this old bagger with a trike kit....

Hattitude, good analysis. And I am aware it's a trike. One post mentioned a rear tire. Of course this machine has two rear tires. Trikes use car tires on the rear and probably get 20, 30, 40,000 miles on them. But as has been said, no matter what, these tires need replacing because of age.
